Sources and methodology

Business Register
Registered businesses, legal form, year of founding and registered address. Source: e-Business Register open data (CC BY-SA 4.0).
Annual reports
Revenue, profit and employees from 2024 annual reports. Only registered companies whose report is in the open data are counted; companies without a report (including many newly founded ones) are not covered.
EMTA
Quarterly state taxes, labour taxes, turnover and headcount by company (Tax and Customs Board open data).
Limitations
Revenue comes from each company's own report and includes intra-group transactions, so it is not the same as gross domestic product. The county is the registered address, not the place of operation. All figures are totals, not averages.
